Water and sewerage services in Conwy are provided principally by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, appointed under the Water Industry Act 1991.[2] Water company supply areas are set by appointment and do not follow county boundaries, so the company serving a given property in Conwy depends on its location rather than on the county alone. Plumbing and water fittings in England and Wales are governed by the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, which water undertakers enforce and which set the standard leak investigation and repair work is carried out to.[3]
