Leak detection in Devon is the provision of water leak detection services in Devon, a county in England. ADI Leak Detection publishes Devon as a service area and its coverage data lists 34 settlements in the county, of which 19 have a dedicated ADI location page.[1] Five of ADI's 22 published engineers list Devon among the areas they cover.[4]
Water supply and regulation[edit]
Water and sewerage services in Devon are provided principally by South West Water.[2] Water company supply areas are set by appointment and do not follow county boundaries, so the company serving a given property in Devon depends on its location rather than on the county alone. Plumbing and water fittings in England and Wales are governed by the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, which water undertakers enforce and which set the standard leak investigation and repair work is carried out to.[3]
Towns and cities covered[edit]
ADI publishes a dedicated location page for 19 of the 34 settlements its coverage data records in Devon: Barnstaple, Bideford, Brixham, Cullompton, Dawlish, Exeter, Exmouth, Ilfracombe, Ivybridge, Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot, Northam, Paignton, Plymouth, Sidmouth, Tavistock, Teignmouth, Tiverton and Torquay.[1] The remaining settlements are within the county ADI publishes as a service area but do not have a page of their own, so the list above is what ADI publishes rather than the limit of where it works.
ADI coverage[edit]
Five of the 22 engineers ADI publishes list Devon among the counties they cover: James Bexter (Cullompton, Devon), Mark Pavitt (Teddington, Greater London), Richard Poberezniuk (Chippenham, Wiltshire), Artur Sowa (Ringwood, Hampshire) and Gabor Weber (Didcot, Oxfordshire).[4] Each engineer's coverage is taken from the county list published on their own ADI profile; the county is not necessarily worked in full by every engineer listed. That places Devon 28th of 70 by number of covering engineers.
