Leak detection in Flintshire is the provision of water leak detection services in Flintshire, a county in Wales. ADI Leak Detection publishes Flintshire as a service area and its coverage data lists seven settlements in the county, of which four have a dedicated ADI location page.[1] Two of ADI's 22 published engineers list Flintshire among the areas they cover.[5][6]

Water supply and regulation[edit]

Water and sewerage services in Flintshire are provided principally by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, appointed under the Water Industry Act 1991.[2] Drinking water supply in parts of the county is provided by Hafren Dyfrdwy.[3] Water company supply areas are set by appointment and do not follow county boundaries, so the company serving a given property in Flintshire depends on its location rather than on the county alone. Plumbing and water fittings in England and Wales are governed by the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, which water undertakers enforce and which set the standard leak investigation and repair work is carried out to.[4]

Towns and cities covered[edit]

ADI publishes a dedicated location page for four of the seven settlements its coverage data records in Flintshire: Buckley, Flint, Holywell and Mold.[1] The remaining settlements are within the county ADI publishes as a service area but do not have a page of their own, so the list above is what ADI publishes rather than the limit of where it works.

ADI coverage[edit]

Two of the 22 engineers ADI publishes list Flintshire among the counties they cover: Paul Hope (Swinton, Greater Manchester) and Brett Steele (Halifax, West Yorkshire).[5][6] Each engineer's coverage is taken from the county list published on their own ADI profile; the county is not necessarily worked in full by every engineer listed. That places Flintshire 47th of 70 by number of covering engineers.
