Leak detection in Mid Glamorgan is the provision of water leak detection services in Mid Glamorgan, a county in Wales. ADI Leak Detection publishes Mid Glamorgan as a service area and its coverage data lists 28 settlements in the county, of which eleven have a dedicated ADI location page.[1] Three of ADI's 22 published engineers list Mid Glamorgan among the areas they cover.[6][7][8]

Water supply and regulation[edit]

Water and sewerage services in Mid Glamorgan are provided principally by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, appointed under the Water Industry Act 1991.[4] Water company supply areas are set by appointment and do not follow county boundaries, so the company serving a given property in Mid Glamorgan depends on its location rather than on the county alone. Plumbing and water fittings in England and Wales are governed by the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, which water undertakers enforce and which set the standard leak investigation and repair work is carried out to.[5]

ADI publishes a dedicated location page for eleven of the 28 settlements its coverage data records in Mid Glamorgan: Aberdare, Bridgend, Ferndale, Llantrisant, Merthyr Tydfil, Mountain Ash, Pencoed, Pontypridd, Porthcawl, Tonypandy and Tonyrefail.[1] The remaining settlements are within the county ADI publishes as a service area but do not have a page of their own, so the list above is what ADI publishes rather than the limit of where it works. ADI files Mid Glamorgan across three separate service-area sections rather than one, reflecting the current principal areas rather than the historic county.[2][3]
