Leak detection in Somerset is the provision of water leak detection services in Somerset, a county in England. ADI Leak Detection publishes Somerset as a service area and its coverage data lists 27 settlements in the county, of which 18 have a dedicated ADI location page.[1] Five of ADI's 22 published engineers list Somerset among the areas they cover.[5]

Water supply and regulation[edit]

Water and sewerage services in Somerset are provided principally by Wessex Water, appointed under the Water Industry Act 1991.[2] Drinking water supply in parts of the county is provided by Bristol Water.[3] Water company supply areas are set by appointment and do not follow county boundaries, so the company serving a given property in Somerset depends on its location rather than on the county alone. Plumbing and water fittings in England and Wales are governed by the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, which water undertakers enforce and which set the standard leak investigation and repair work is carried out to.[4]
