Water and sewerage services in West Glamorgan are provided principally by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, appointed under the Water Industry Act 1991.[3] Water company supply areas are set by appointment and do not follow county boundaries, so the company serving a given property in West Glamorgan depends on its location rather than on the county alone.
